What is a Competition Scholars Club?

Competition Scholars Club is a student-led academic society supported by the AlgoEd competition platform, designed to help students prepare for and excel in world-renowned competitions.

As a Club President, you’ll lead this mission at your school, mobilize peers, and unlock access to elite opportunities — all while building a standout leadership profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

The program is open to students in grades 9 through 12. We look for a mix of grade levels in each cohort. Younger students can grow into more senior roles over time, and seniors can pass their chapter on to someone ready to keep it running after they graduate.

You can expect at least a 2-hour time commitment per week. That covers your club meeting, prep time, your mentor session, and general upkeep like communicating with members and teachers.

It depends. Some CSCs are officially established as a school organization. Some CSCs are interest groups that meet on their own.

Before the school year starts, you’ll build early awareness for your chapter, mainly through social media and outreach to prospective members. Full guidelines are provided once your application is successful.

That’s normal. Most chapters start small. The first meeting and the awareness you build over the summer are what get things moving. AlgoEd provides materials to help with recruiting.

Current students at Ivy League universities across different disciplines. You’ll meet with them monthly for guidance on leadership, academics, and fireside chats.

A global leadership role for your profile. You’ll make calls like when to host or drop a session, and who to assign to what task based on skillsets. That management experience goes far. You’ll also get a certificate of completion, mentorship, and a spot in a global network of presidents from North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

Please only apply for President if you can commit the time and energy required. Check your calendars and ensure this initiative is something you can comfortably handle before considering taking on the role.

You can still get involved by applying to become a Summer Ambassador. This is a short-term opportunity running only during the summer, making it a great way to contribute with a smaller time commitment.

Yes! There will be a CSC group channel. The AlgoEd team monitors it regularly, and other presidents are often the fastest way to get an answer.

No. There are no participation fees.
