What's the CSC club?
Competition Scholars Club, CSC for short, is a student-led academic society supported by the AlgoEd competition platform, designed to help students prepare for and excel in world-renowned competitions. Currently, more than 70 CSCs, led by club presidents, are established worldwide, from North America to Europe to Asia, with active members participating in numerous AlgoEd international competitions and receiving prominent awards and recognitions.
To foster a global sense of community, the CSCs also have an established global network, working closely with presidents all across the world, supporting one another, and setting monthly goals for clubs to achieve to win exclusive awards.
In addition to practicing for academic competitions, CSC also offers regular guest speakers and mentor sessions on Zoom, inviting students and staff from esteemed universities such as MIT, Stanford, and UPenn to share their unique experiences and tips for success.
How does it help students?
Whether through mobilizing peers, organizing events, promoting competition, or hosting meetings, the CSC presidents can develop their leadership skills and gradually build an outstanding leadership profile, helping them to succeed in future endeavors.
As a member, CSCs provide elite opportunities for students to expand their knowledge in preparation for prestigious competitions and develop their interests by communicating with like-minded peers. Monthly or bi-monthly mentorship meetings also provide presidents and club members with opportunities to build connections with experienced professionals and thrive in university applications.
What have we done so far?
Last summer, CSC club presidents around the world had been actively preparing and building leadership skills for their clubs. From sticking posters around their neighborhoods to creating lovely social media posts and hosting online campaigns, each president has truly contributed to the AlgoEd CSC network in unique ways.
This school year, presidents are excited to apply their leadership skills, build club boards, expand their clubs, and host thrilling events during their meetings. Below are some of the exciting activities presidents hosted:

What do CSC members think of CSC?
“AlgoEd found me on the front page of Google when I was looking for competitions that were international and had more value on my application compared to simple interschool competitions. I started off with the MIT EWB competition in February of 2025, gathered some of my friends, and came 1st nationally. 6 more competitions later, I can honestly say that the CSC community has helped me find a sense of belonging and learn more about my classmates and juniors as I rallied them to compete in AlgoEd competitions! I also got a boost of confidence to compete nationally and won twice! I believe AlgoEd is a great start for someone looking to compete globally and be exposed to a new environment.”
– Mohammed Muhaiminur Rahman South Breeze School, Bangladesh
“I did the MIT STEM competition in February of 2025 with my friends. It was a nice opportunity to motivate myself to organize with people with similarities to me. It was also a nice motivation to study more science stuff and see how what I know applies outside an immediate classroom setting.”
– Alice from Benjamin Franklin High School, United States
“The Harvard Crimson Global Quiz Bowl, hosted by AlgoEd, was a great enrichment opportunity. I was able to expand my knowledge on subjects that I was interested in, especially on such an intuitive and accessible platform. This is one of several competitions I have done on Algoed, and I will definitely be doing more in the future to enhance my knowledge and gain these experiences.”
– Zuhayr Siddique from Doha College, Qatar
“I participated in the Berkeley Stock Pitch Competition and placed second in North America, not only boosting my interest in the fields of finance and economics, but also inspiring me to lead students in my area through the creation of a Competition Scholars Club. This organization means a lot to me as I believe giving students access to international competitions in various fields allows them to grow both inside and outside the classroom.”
– Sahasra Boggala from Dougherty Valley High School, United States
What could you do?
The more the merrier! Competition between students allows us to grow and take a little break from school life while advancing the way we think. As our CSC community grows, we hope to recruit more clubs and encourage more leaders to deepen their leadership skills while helping more students to develop academic capabilities. To establish a new club, visit the Scholars Club page on AlgoEd.co and start promoting international competitions in your school, community, state, or even country! As your AlgoEd CSC global board, we look forward to your contribution as the CSC network continues to expand!
Sincerely from the CSC Global board,
