Celebrating Intellectual Curiosity: Awards Ceremony

Before the final live round, a virtual awards ceremony was held to celebrate winners and acknowledge their outstanding achievements in the preliminary round. This inspirational event set an energetic tone for the upcoming final challenge.

Global Final Winners and Achievements

The MIT EWB Science and Engineering Competition 2025 honored the ingenuity, perseverance, and brilliance of its participants. The global winners amazed judges with their inventive solutions, deep technical analysis, and strong teamwork. Their accomplishments highlight the exceptional potential of the next generation of scientific leaders.

The final round featured an expert panel of judges, Their diverse backgrounds ensured a comprehensive and insightful evaluation process.

Competition Format and Structure

The competition was designed to challenge students' scientific acumen and engineering creativity through two engaging rounds:

  1. Preliminary Round: Participants completed an online exam covering a range of scientific disciplines, including math, physics, biology, chemistry, and environmental engineering. The exam emphasized analytical thinking and practical problem-solving, with a strong focus on applying scientific knowledge to real-world engineering problems.


  2. Final Round: Top 8 scoring teams from each of the middle school and high school categories advanced to a live Zoom competition. Here, they tackled one of four real-world engineering challenges, each tied to a pressing global issue. The final prompts were:
